We work with a number of different community groups across the county. They run preventative campaigns, helping their communities learn how to stop waste becoming litter in the first place. Some work in a group, others work individually on a specific project, fitting in their volunteering around their other work, study or home commitments.

Whatever your situation, there are aspects of volunteering you can take part in to support the Litter Free Dorset cause, and we’re very grateful for all that these community groups and volunteers do.

Click on the buttons below to find out a bit more about each group, and find out about your nearest group. There are always lots of litter picks happening across the county, so be sure to check in and find out what’s on going on near you!

Wimborne War on Waste

Forming out of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean 2017, and a strong desire to reduce litter and raise awareness of single-use items; the Wimborne War on Waste group was formed. The original 5 core members have seen the group grow quickly over the past few months.

Their first major event was to raise awareness around the issue of single-use coffee cups in the town of Wimborne.
